It is a 300c with the hemi. It cuts off after it’s been running for a while and at the red lights. I have replace the front control module, a new alternator, new battery and it still doing the same thing.

Hi,

When it stalls, does it start right back up? I'm asking because a failing crankshaft position sensor can cause this to happen. Oftentimes, they are affected by heat. When they get hot enough, they fail. Most times, they need to cool for a bit before the car will restart. Interestingly, it may or may not set a check engine light.

Do me a favor. Read through this link and let me know if it seems to mirror what you experience.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/symptoms-of-a-bad-crankshaft-sensor

If it had a delayed start after it stalls, check to see if there is spark to the plugs. If there isn't, chances are it is the crankshaft position sensor.

If you determine it is bad, here is a link that shows in general how one is replaced:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/crankshaft-angle-sensor-replacement

The attachments below are the directions and pics specific to your vehicle for replacing the sensor. Note: The Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor is located at the right-rear side of the engine cylinder block.

Let me know if this helps. Also, let me know if the check engine light is staying on when the engine is running.

Take care,

Joe

Hello, tried what you said did not work, car still cuts off. Took it to another shop he said it is one of the modules that is heating up and sharing the car off, but it’s not giving a code telling which one. Any ideas on which one it could be? because that it’s going to be very costly to try and replace all of them. Thanking you in advance.

Hi,

It could be a few different ones. He didn't mention which one it is? Also, did you replace the crankshaft sensor?

By chance, did he give you a list of modules he wants to replace? At least I can tell you if they could be possibilities.

Without a code, it is a guessing game for me as well. I hope you understand.

Let me know.
