Trying to change my starter

Good morning,

I attached the procedure below for you with some pictures attached.

Roy

Removing
- Disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap


NOTE:
- On vehicles with restricted access to the engine compartment, it may become necessary to bring the lock carrier/radiator support into service position
- Depending on engine type and additional equipment, it may become necessary to loosen the engine mounts and then lift the engine slightly with engine support bridge 10-222 A.
- Depending on engine and transmission type, it may become necessary to loosen the a/c refrigerant hoses from their mounting locations
- Depending on engine and transmission type, it may become necessary to loosen or remove the lines from the automatic transmission to the oil cooler

- Unclip terminal 50 connector -1- and remove.
- Remove nut -2- at starter solenoid terminal 30 and remove connector eyelet from terminal. Tightening torque: 13 Nm (10 ft. lb)

- Loosen and remove clamp which secures heat shield to starter.

Mounting to engine block


NOTE: Bracket -c- may not be installed on some engine/transmission types.

- Where applicable, remove M8 nut -arrow A-.
Tightening torque: 22 Nm (16 ft. lb.).
- Remove both M5 nuts -arrows B-, and remove retaining bracket.
Tightening torque 4 Nm (35 in lb).

Mounting to transmission housing

- Remove upper M12 x 90 bolt -1- from transmission housing (end view of transmission housing illustrated).
Tightening torque: 65 Nm (48 ft. lb).
- Remove lower M12 x 67 bolt -2- from transmission housing.
Tightening torque 65 Nm (48 ft. lb).
