I was on my way to work yesterday and I lost engine power my truck started clanking and I pulled over and looked under my hood and open my oil cap and it was tan and color and kind of chunky I could not get past the speed limit of 45 and it started spitting and sputtering every time I let off the gas it would die and I'd have to read crank it while pressing the gas and now that I've got it back home I can't get it to crank up it will turn over but will not crank up it kind of was acting like it was running out of gas or it has really bad gas but my gas gauge read fine

Have you checked the level and condition of the oil?

I think that engine is pretty much junk now. The milky look is likely from coolant that got into the oil, The combination of that and having virtually no oil at all would have destroyed all the bearings and other internal components.

It acts like it won't get any gas and when I was driving it was spitting and sputering I had someone tell me it could be the fuel lines or the filter

That doesn't change the fact that it was driven 4 quarts low on oil and what little oil it had was mixed with coolant. That does major damage to the inside of the engine. You also haven't determined how the coolant got in there. That in itself could be terminal for that engine.

Is there anything I can do and do you know what it would cost for a engine and have it put in

The only thing you can do is have it looked at by a professional and get and accurate diagnosis. As far as the cost, that totally depends on what route you take as far as rebuilding that engine, replacing it with a used engine or replacing it with a factory remanufactured long block. I'd say anywhere from $2,000 to $6,000
