I just replaced my quadrajet carburetor with a new 1406 edelbroock carb on a performer series manifold for a crate 350 gm motor. The problem i had prior to the change and currently is that The truck won't go passed around 50mph on the freeway going up hill and i floored my gas pedal on flat driving and it will not accelerate more than 70mph. Going downhill i can accelerate more than 70. I recently purchased thus truck so i don't know much of its history. I know it has a newer Exhaust, I'm not sure what kind of transmission the truck has. I put in a new fuel filter with the new carb. The engine sounds good, and i don't feel anything wrong with the automatic transmission. I took it to an older mechanic who knows a lot about these trucks whom i go to when I'm stumped and he thought it was the carburetor that needed to be rebuilt, so i just replaced it, butt the problem is still there. Any suggestions/recommendations is appreciated. Thanks!
