Scrapyard parts

I recently bought this truck that supposedly sat for seven years . It does have a new transmission, alternator, battery and some fuses. Whoever the mechanic was that worked on this truck replaced some of the computer parts under the hood (it is evident from the scrapyard numbers). My question is this, would I be better off going back to a scrapyard and getting the computer parts and harness off another Dakota?

You have to be more specific as to what you need, what the symptoms are, and what you are trying to solve? Remember that up to the time a vehicle was destined for the salvage yard, it is usually some big thing that failed, like the engine or transmission, or it had been cobbled too much or crashed, so all the other parts were still working just fine. In the case of wiring harnesses, find those that were not damaged in a crash or cut up by the previous owner. Chrysler puts tags on them with part numbers so you can verify you found the right one for the right group of optional equipment. You are going to want to know your engine size too because many parts are different based on engine size and transmission type.
