Trouble starting

I changed the valve cover gaskets because of leaks and put everything back together. It started just fine even with a damaged a vacuum sensor that is located underneath the coil pack row. It was not driven and when I replaced the sensor, it would not start and if it did, it was at very low rpm's and when I would give it gas, it would shut off. It was a used car I bought with about 150,000 miles on it so I tried the coil packs, plugs, and plug wires. Nothing, same result. Then I did the timing belt, tension and idler pulley's, tension-er, and water pump. Nothing. Now, the "check transmission light" is on. It never ran good after initial start up after changing the valve cover gaskets and it was running just fine before that.

Any suggestions?

If everything was done correctly and the check transmission light is now indicating, I would suggest checking for broken or bad grounding wires.

It sounds like you have a TPS sensor that have gone out. Can you tell me if you have OBD1 or 2?

Thanks for your response. It's an OBD1 where I have to use a jumper wire to count the light sequence if the "check engine" light comes on but it doesn't come on....just the "check transmission" light.

We need to fix the check engine light first so we cab see what codes are in the system you might have a bad ECM. There is a 10 amp fuse that controls the check engine light in the C-10 slot can you check it please?

The "check engine" light is not on. The "check transmission" light is.

When you turn the key to the "on" position without cranking does the check engine light come on?

That could be a problem or the light is out. Can you check for power at the blue and yellow wire headed into the cluster for power when the key is on?

I'm sorry, it does come on prior to starting but then goes out

I have a TPS sensor coming but could it be the camshaft position sensor and where is it located??

TPS replaced. Idle air control valve replaced. Gas filter replaced. Good fuel pressure. Fuel pressure regulator replaced along with everything else. No "check engine" light comes on but does light up when key is turned on but does go out. The "check transmission" still comes though when it does start at low idle but when it's given any gas at all, it dies.

Please, can you think of anything else?

Sorry for the late response. I think you are right with the crankshaft angle sensor here is its location and guide to show you what you are in for when doing the job.
