Trouble code P0746

From a cold start, car appears to run okay. After running 20 minutes, starts to lose acceleration and over revs. Can't seem to get past 40 MPH. Transmission was rebuilt last December, but it is past the 18,000 mile warranty. Was rebuilt at 168,000 and now at 201,000, so can't go back to Aamco as warranty which was 18,000 or 18 months.

Good afternoon,

I attached the possibilities and the flow chart for you for the code.

In most cases, it is the transmission that is the issue. I know it is beyond the warranty but it looks like you may be doing it again.

The pressure control solenoid is external but rarely is the failure. You will need an advanced scan tool to monitor the action of the solenoid.
