It appears as if the camshaft position sensor is giving a faulty signal. The sensor is behind the cylinder head right above the thermostat and radiator hose. Inspect the wiring harness for damage. Disconnect the connector and inspect the Male and female end pins for corrosion. If all appears good then I would recommend you replace the camshaft position sensor.

I replaced the camshaft position sensor and it still won’t start. Apparently this P0342 code could be a number of issues. Any other suggestions?

Does your scan tool have Live data? If it does look at the RPM. While cranking engine over you should see am RPM reading. Let us know what that reading is please.

Does your scan tool have Live data? If it does look at the RPM. While cranking engine over you should see am RPM reading. Let us know what that reading is please. Another thing you may want to test is to see if you have a pulse to the fuel injectors. Here is a link on how to test the fuel injectors:

If you have no pulse to the injectors and no RPM then the crank sensor will most likely be the failing part. Earlier you did not specify you had a no start condition. Also another thing to look at is to see if the timing belt snapped off.

If the belt snapped off you will need to replace it and do a compression check to verify you did not bend any valves. Here is another link on how a timing belt works:

Let us know on those additional checks.
