I saw a TSB about the jerking that can take place in these so dropped the valve body and changed the 2 they talk about. Filled it with a gallon of fluid and started it but heard what sounded like starvation from the pan, so added another quart, got a bit better but still noisy. I got code p0753, so I ordered that and ill drop it again to change it. they all come with a plastic black cap, I assume these need to be removed before installing and are just for protection while being shipped? video showing the sound, and a picture to show the cap.

So the sounds was not there before correct? That is not a fluid sound so there must be something wrong with the valve, it can be defective. Also, where the black cap is that is where the electrical connects correct? So it should be removed before the connector is reattached.

P0753 on a 2012 Hyundai Genesis is “Shift Solenoid A - Electrical

If you have a bidirectional scan tool, use Output/Actuator Test - Shift Solenoid A. You should hear/feel it click and see current draw (0.8 - 1.2 A is common for this style). No click/current = electrical fault.

These are the 8 speed transmission which they had problems with, you may have a mechanical failure which can masquerade as an electrical failure. Let us know how it goes.

Bummer, if the solenoid clicks and does not fix it the transmission has an internal problem which causes the code. It will need to come apart and be rebuilt. I know it says an electrical error but if you hear it working the error is causes by unexpected electrical draw or lack of it while the transmission is in action, this means there is an mechanical failure.
