On two occasions the transmission did not engage on initial start up. Otherwise it was fine. no slipping and no noises or clunking. The fluid is smooth and clean. Last attempt to drive after my car was sitting for a few days during very cold weather, it engage in drive normally until i made a stop at the end of my street. It then acted as if it was in neutral. I shifted it into reverse and parked it. I was parallel parking so I tried shifting into drive to straighten out. It did not engage. Tried reverse again and that did not work either. After the weather got better (45°f) i tried again thinking the cold may have something to do with it. It is still not engaging.

Good morning.

The first thing I would do is to change the transmission oil/filter. the filter may be clogged not allowing sufficient fluid into the front pump for operation. that is the most common problem for an issue such as this.
