Transmission Slip in Drive

My transmission started slipping in drive and now wont move forward. Reverse is fine. It only slipped a couple days before. I checked the fluid and added about half a quart. It is way up the stick with it not running but barely on stick when checked in Neutral while running. I also noticed the ECT light on the day it started slipping.
Is this the bands? Shift solenoids? Fluid burned? Too much fluid? Not enough? Is it the ECMod?
A fuse? A vacuum hose?

You will have to go get a line pressure test done, get a trained transmission tech to do a hands on diagnostic on this problem. there are too many variants to give an accurate appraisal on line.

I also wanted to mention that when atf is checked, while not running it, it appears to have too much fluid
However, when I check it while running it appears way too low.
What gives?

If it is low running the fluid level is low, please add to the proper level and get back to us.

Fluid drains back into pan when engine not running, this can easily be a liter more,running the engine in park will correct the level for testing.
