I purchased my car in May now we are in December with extremely cold temperatures. I have not had any problems with the transmission shifting until the cold hit. When I put the car in gear it takes a minute before the car will go and sometimes when driving down the road the rpm's ramp up but the speedometer does not do anything and the transmission will not shift. This happens between first and second gears. I have had to put my hazards on and pull off to the side of the road. Once the car warms up it drives and shifts without issue. I have already replaced the distributor and fuel pump since buying the car. I have put as much into the car as I paid for it. I cannot afford any more expensive repairs. Hoping you will have an answer for this issue. Thank you.

Good morning.

The most common issue for this problem is the filter in the transmission being clogged with dirt.

I would have the transmission fluid and filter changed. that may take care of the entire issue.
