transmission seal replacement instructions needed

These are a little tricky. Do you have the transmission removed or are you trying to do it in the vehicle?

I am sure it can be done in the vehicle but the only way I have done it and seen it done with it removed and the case actually taken apart.

Then you just simply use a flat head screwdriver and pop the seal out and use the special tool shown below to install the replacement.

If you don't have the tool shown below, then you can use a large socket that sits on the rim of the seal, but you must get this in even or it will leak. This is why most parts stores carry a install kit that will have a piece that will fit this seal.

Unfortunately, there are no detailed instructions from the manual on just this installation as this is only part of the larger rebuild process. So, they just say to install the seal. However, the seal tool is shown and how to use it.
