Customer hit a deer that was already dead in the road. He pulled over immediately afterwards and got out to look at the damage which there was no body damage (unbelievable) but when he got back in it wouldn't shift into gear, said he could turn the car off and on no problem but no shift, called me I went and loaded it and got it to my shop, never could get it to start at all, underneath the car it bent the Trans shift cable pretty good and is missing some retainer clips, used the interlock to move shifter, only code Im getting is the p1705 with the kOEO test is transmission Range Sensor circuit self test out of range, my question is, the TRS is it in the transmission because I cant find it anywhere outside if it, and if you know any other things I should try before I drop the Trans im all ears....thank you guys!!!

Hello, yes the range sensor is part of the valve body on these models. You will have to drop the pan, valve body, and then unbolt the sensor from the valve body with the shift solenoid pack. Sounds like it will need a cable and a range sensor. Hope this helps!
