Where is the transmission output speed sensor located?

The output sensor is located on the top part of the transmission housing.
You will have to remove the air filter box in order to access it.

Thank you I will do this when I get a chance but one more question. when I pulled that part out it looks different then the new part. The new part has a silver end on it does this seam right?

If this is the place where it is, this is what was in there. I'm just going off the picture I received from SQM on here.

The replacement sensor is not correct. From picture it looks like the new sensor has shorter shaft length. So, this will not going to work. I think they gave you the input shaft sensor.

Would you happen to have a part number and am I taking out the right one? Isn't the one I pointed out?

Well, I got off early so I put the parts in and it's still doing the same thing and now a p1731 code is coming up. I can't win. any suggestions?

I'm going to change the filter.

Okay. so, the filter change didn't help, but I was thinking it was a clog in the filter. so, I bypassed the filter and now I'm thinking it's the radiator that connects to the transmission could be clogged because this is what it looks like at the filter and I've changed it twice already, but when I pull a dipstick it's a red color like it should be. what do you guys think?

Forgot to mention when I start it up it will drive about a minute then it starts acting up and RPMs go up when I hit the gas then with no movement. Every time I change a part, I get a different code. Waiting for it to just say you are bumming.

From the picture the fluid looks to be dirty.
So, let's recap, did it drive before you changed the sensor/fluid?
Or did it always have hard shift after everything warms up?

The Code P1731 is a trouble code for the shift control system, typically due to an issue with shift solenoid.

Sorry yes, the car drove fine before this. Them my son called me saying the car won't move and it took him forever to get it home (limp mode I guess). so, put the reader on it, got the code for shift solenoid so changed them both didn't fix it. then got a code for transmission output speed sensor, so I change input and output sensor that didn't fix it. Now got a code p1731. Also changed transmission fluid twice so to see it that dirty when I removed the filter, I was confused. so now I'm thinking the radiator could be clogged because when I pull the dip stick it's clean.

The D is blinking but I'm going through your steps.

Flashing D typically means an issue with the transmission pressure switch. Which can also lead to harsh shifting. If the transmission fluid does not build up enough pressure it will affect the way it shifts.
