So I am going to replace my transmission oil, and on the dipstick cover it tells me to use Mercon SP. and i already bought Mercon V. So i read that i cannot use the Mercon V. i watched a YouTube video and he used Mercon V on his truck. I am in a pickle because i already drained my transmission fluid and mixed it with my other oils.

Good morning,

What transmission do you have in the truck so I can get you the correct information.

This is the info for the fluid. you need to know what transmission you have to be sure.

Fluid Types

Transmission Fluid Type

Torqshift .................... Motorcraft MERCON SP

4R100 .................... MERCON V

MERCON ATF is being replaced by MERCON V ATF as a service fluid, per TSB 06-14-4.
Capacities

Transmission Fluid

Automatic - 4R100 (4-speed) .................... 17.7 qts (16.7L)

Automatic - Torque Shift (5-speed) .................... 17.5 qts (16.6 L)

NOTE: Includes remote filter element change.

No, you need to use the SP for your transmission.

that is required due to the heat build up.
