Truck is stuck in drive and won’t go into anything else. The gear shifter still moves but the gear doesn’t change.

Transmission will not shift out of drive?

Hi,
When you shift gear, do you feel the same amount of resistance in the shifter? Also, does the gear indicator change when you change gears?
Let me know that. At this point, my first thought is the shift cable came apart at the transmission shift lever. If you look below, I attached a pic of it.
Have a helper shift through the gears while you watch at the left side of the transmission if the lever is moving on the transmission. Also, inspect the cable mount bracket as well to make sure it hasn't broken or come loose.
