1st presented; 65mph hot in d2 3rd gear went to neutral, d-1 ran in 2nd gear, no 2-3 shift. now; shifts cold both d1 and d2. hot; no 2-3 shift in d1, no 1-2 shift in d2

first, D2 is second gear only. no shifting up or down.

make sure your linkeage is set up right

if it is, you may have a valve body issue. considering the year, i bet that is the issue. you need an old timer in a trans shop that worked on the old cast iron cruise-a-matic trans.
