Transmission not shifting

Hi, I have the same problem, if you don't mind me asking, did your Highlander had the check engine light on when it had the shifting problem? If so, did you check for codes before the replacement of the PCM. Thanks

Have you changed the fluid? That is important.

The throttle position sensor is the primary sensor for shifting. If it was the sensor, it would code. If there is no code, it is pointing at the ECM as the failure.

Hi, thanks for answering. it shows codes p0330, p1346 and p1351 and no, I haven't change the oil yet. I'm about to in both my Highlander and my Grand Marquis. I bought an programmed computer from FS1 but my car didn't start up with it so I sent it back. I associated the lack of shifting with a faulty computer because in Sheila's case she changed it and it worked and mine have the same problem, you can drive a 1,000 miles with no stop lights and she works perfect, as soon you stop it doesn't shift anymore.

Each vehicle is its own issue. Rarely do 2 vehicles have the same failure.

Did you re-install your old ECM?
