transmission not shifting properly

This could be a fluid issue so even though you don't have a dipstick we will need to check the fluid.

I would suggest servicing the unit. Here is a guide that will help with this:

Below is the process from the manual that will show how to properly fill the unit so that we know it is at the right level. However, we need to know the condition of the fluid currently as if it is burned then that will be good info.

thank you the pictures were super helpful. the fluid is black no particles in it's just black.

Okay. That means that there is most likely a clutch slipping and also means that we are most likely going to have to rebuild or replace the unit.

However, it is worth a try in changing the fluid. I doubt it will work but it is far cheaper and easier and if you get some more like out of it then it was worth the try.

You're right it did not work. now it's making the noise and still will not move it will cost as much to repair the transmission as I paid for the car. Thanks for your help.

Totally understand and I am glad you mentioned that. We never put the same amount or more money then the car is worth into repairing it. It is far better to get what you can and put that money plus the money you would have used to repair it into a slightly better car.
