My automatic transmission is sometimes too sensitive and feels pressure when I shift gears. I Checked the transmission fluid it reads that it runs hot but it still looks good (pinkish color) and isn’t low. Should I drain or add more fluid or leave it be?

Hi,

I would not recommend overfilling the transmission because that is only going to cause aeration which will cause other issues.

When you say it runs hot, what is the temp? Do you have a scan tool to monitor the transmission temp? You will have a temperature sensor that on a scan tool will give you an actual degree rather than looking at a gauge. I don't remember if you cluster has an option that it gives you an actual temp reading but if it does, what is the actual temperature? Thanks

Okay. Based on the gauge, how hot does it get? Can you get a picture of about where it sits when you are seeing it run hot? Also, does the temperature drop if you shift to N while driving?
