Hi,
Yes, you have a transmission filter. It tells you to flush the transmission and not drop the pan to change the fluid. If you don't have a machine then you do the process attached. Basically, you only change the filter when you drop the pan. If you can change the fluid without dropping the pan then that is preferred.
