The transmission won't go into reverse and I have to get RPMs up to 3,000 and go from d5 to manual shift to get it to change from 3rd to 4th. i found a 2004 ls v8 transmission to put in it. is there any tips or tricks I should know to do the swap?

Good morning,

I attached the procedure for you below for your review. This is a very involved repair. You will need a lift and a lot of hand tools for this procedure.

Make sure you flush out the cooler lines of all debris from the failed transmission.

Make sure you change the filter and fluid on the donor transmission as well. That way you have a fresh start for servicing.
