The transmission goes from first to second to third but not from third to drive. While driving on the interstate it will not go out of third gear and to drive.

Hello,

It sounds like you have a input shaft speeds sensor that is out. But to be sure lets run the codes to see what comes up

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/checking-a-service-engine-soon-or-check-engine-light-on-or-flashing

Here is the location of the sensor. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what you find.

Cheers, Ken

Okay I will check into that thanks. I know I have a check engine light that is on and when I took it by to have them to scan it they say there's getting no power to the port or something like that. So I need to find out what's causing that is well.
Thanks

Try a new scanner or see if it works on another car. Also check the fuse # 6 on the left side of the dash this powers the ALDL connector.

Please let us know what happens.

It sounds like you have an overdrive shift solenoid that is not working. Here is the transmission wiring diagrams to help you see how the system works and the valve body showing the solenoid. I would change out the one with the blue wire going to it. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens.

Okay, I will let you know what I find out. If something like that was bad or out would there be a code for it? When I took it to AutoZone the only code that was pulled up was the front bank O2 sensor. My daughter has been driving it back and forth to work but it is local and she does not get above 55 will that be okay to drive until I am able to get it fixed?
Thanks,
Bobby

Sometimes there will be no code for this kind of failure. You should be okay to drive it just stay under 55. Let me know what happens, Ken
