transmission noise

the more i accelerate the louder the noise gets. This is the only problem with transmission. It started after I had the rotors and brake pads replaced. It's not slipping or slow to accelerate. It has never overheated it has no leaks. I had a mechanic look at my car and was told the humming was coming from the transmission. I am not convinced it's a transmission problem.

Hi,

If it started with the brake work, that is where I would be checking. Is the sound noticeable when the vehicle is stopped? Can you hear it in neutral or park? When applying the brakes or making turns, change the pitch or sound in any way?

Do me a favor. If it is loud enough, record it and upload it for me to hear.

The only time noise is heard is when the car is in drive and accelerating. The car sounds normal. When I first turn it on and put it in drive the noise becomes louder when i reach 35 MPH and the faster i go the louder the noise. At first, I thought my RPMs were too high by the way it sounded but they are exactly where they should be. The car does not have any normal transmission signs of problems.

Hi,

Is it loud enough to record and upload for me to hear? Also, since it only is making noise when placed in gear (moving or not), it sounds like it could be related to pressure solenoid, but I really need to hear it.

If that isn't possible, I would suggest scanning the can-bus system. CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, all modules and computers are tied together via a few wires. This type of scan will identify codes regardless of the module it is stored in. Here is a link that shows how it is done.
