Transmission will not engage and code P0503

Vehicle will try to engage in gear, but wines like a possible sensor. no R,D, or 321 and when put in park it will still rolls like it's in neutral. code I got P0503. could the WSS cause this issue?

The code is related to the transmission control circuit. However, it sounds more like a linkage issue or the range sensor is bad.

Tell me, You said, "No R, D, or 321." Do you mean the indicators don't light up? Is it staying in P only?

Also, the shift lever linkage is adjustable. It could even be disconnected at the transmission. I attached a pic of the linkage on the trans. Make sure it is connected and tight.
