Hello. My car listed above stopped moving at a stop light yesterday morning after driving normally for 20 minutes. The engine starts with no problem and revs when in park, but when I shift it into either drive or reverse it will not move, and after initially revving up to 3,500 RPMs momentarily it only revs slightly as if it is being limited. The check engine is not on at all. Can you tell me what this is and how to fix it?

This car has the CVT transmission which they had trouble with, the multi friction belt ends up going bad, but we should run the codes and check the transmission fluid level.

Here are guides to help with instructions for your can in the images below:

and

Also, I would service the fluid if it smells burnt to see if that helps but it might be too late.

Transmission Fluid

Type .................... Genuine Nissan CVT fluid NS-3

Use only Genuine NISSAN CVT Fluid NS-3. Using transmission fluid other than Genuine NISSAN CVT Fluid NS-3 will damage the CVT, which is not covered by the NISSAN new vehicle limited warranty. Check out the images (below). Please upload pictures or videos in your response to the problem so we can see what's going on.
