My truck doesn't want to go directly into gear when I'm accelerating. When the problem starts, the ABS and parking brake lights come on, and you can hear the truck just rev up and then it will finally go into gear.

Hello,

It sounds like you have a shift solenoid going out or the transmission is low on fluid. we should run the codes as well. here are tow guides to help us fix the problem:

and

Please run down these guides and report back.

Hi Charles,

I would check for any codes. This sounds like a possible speed sensor issue. Not necessarily the wheel speed sensor but the output speed sensor as well. Basically the ABS and Brake light coming on is what is pointing us in that direction. This is typically what that means. Then the trans issues are caused because the vehicle shifts based partly on VSS inputs and if they are off then it "confuses" the transmission and it shifts poorly.

Let me know what codes you have an we can go from there. Also, make sure you have a code reader that can read from the ABS because some cannot.

Thanks
