transfer case repair?

My transfer case went out and I need a new/used one. I'm 8 hours from home in Marinette, WI. After getting towed in, the shop wants to replace the transfer case, transmission, and front drive shaft. The cost: $12 - 16,000 ! This seems high to me. Thoughts?

That is way high, here is the price of a new transfer case from the dealer and the labor time to install it I have also included how the job is done so you can see what you are paying for.

With Electric Shift 84467444 $1,963.49
Without Electric Shift 84308643 $1,925.08

Transfer Case, R&I 2.3 HRS @ shop rate - plus fluids.
