Trans-axle seals

Changed passages side trans-axle seal as the old one was broken and had a leak. now the new one is leaking worst then the old one! What could be the problem? The right tools were used in the process. At a loss also the trans-axle itself was change over a month ago.

Did you also change the half shaft when you changed the seal? If not pop out the inner joint and see if there is a groove worn in the outside of the joint where the seal rides.
Check the bushing in the housing for wear as well. It could have enough to allow the axle to pull away on one side of the seal.

Next, where did the part come from? I have seen more than a few bad parts right out of the package. It is possible the seal itself is not sized correctly.

Was the replacement Trans-axle the exact same as the one that came out? Is it possible there was a change in the axles or seals?
