Traction control light comes on suddenly and car will not accelerate, says it is not in park?

So tonight, driving home my no traction control light came on with my engine light. Wouldn't drive... RPMs kept going up... No propulsion, so I flip the hazards on and put it in park and push ignition to shut it down... Says it's not in park. start it back up. I went into drive and made it home but still says it won't go in park but it's in park. What is this?
