hey guys, i have a 1987 toyota van that has started up with little to no effort (almost so easy all you'd have to do is think about starting it and it would start) in warm/dry weather.
recently it has been getting fairly cold and damp with temps ranging from low 30's to upper 40's. the first cold day it had a little bit of trouble getting going but it eventually started. the second day it didnt want to start at all.
i have replaced a worn distributor rotor but not the cap/wire/plugs as of yet and heres why.
i pulle a plug to test for spark after changing the rotor and it had a firm spark.
there was also gas getting to the engine because i could smell it and see it coming from the plug hole when i tested for spark, but whether thats the correct amount of fuel or not i have no clue except that it used to start just fine.
