The radiator leaks a little at operating temperature where it has a hairline crack. The radiator cap has been replaced. The blower motor, fuse, and relay work fine. The cable connecting the controls for heat or cool and the assembly behind the dash is connected and functioning. The trap door works because I can hear it open and close. the radiator valve for the heater is suppose to be in the engine compartment but I followed the hose from the radiator to the thermostat to the firewall and the other back to the motor. Only one of the two hoses going across the firewall is hot after running for 30 minutes to 1 hours. The one going back to the motor is cold. I can't check the valve because I can't seem to be able to remove the top part of the dash. How can I check the valve to see if it works? How can I check and or unclogg the heater core? Is there any other items I missed?

If you haven't replace the thermostat do so at this time and back flush the heater core and see what happens
