Hello, I have a 93 tercel and the LOW beams won't work. The high beams are fine. Checked the fuses and they are OK. Someone told me it is the switch in the steering column. The arm the turns on/off the turn signals and headlights I guess.
Anyone know anything about this?
How easy is it to replace?

Thanks in advance

Hello !!

Yes, its possible that the steering column switch its not longer good, first check if you "hear" a "click" whenever you actuate the switch, to replace the switch you have to remove the steering wheel (be sure that you have a puller to remove it) then make some drawings on the screws and pieces you are removing to put everythingt back in the same order..

Good Luck!

I do hear a click. I don't have a puller, should I take it to the shop or are the pullers available at retail stores
Thanks

Hello Mark !

Well some autoparts rent tools for free, (like autozone) but first remove the connector from the headlight and test if there`s power on the low beam mode, could be that both low beam filaments got bad at the same time (could be possible !) do that with a 12 volt tester (you can buy that on any 99 cents store !

let us know on your findings and good luck!1

best regards!
