My battery light started coming on recently and when it does the lights get brighter and the blower motor speed increases. One day my battery was dead. I have a new battery in it and the alternator is a couple of months old, I tested this and it is working fine. I have noticed that the control switches in the dashboard for the heater have melted a little. How can I diagnose what is causing the problem.

Your 1st step here is getting the alternator load tested sounds like the alty is overcharging and killing the battery and also causing the other problems you have. If you don't get this fix real quickie battery could explode
