1997 Toyota T-100 Continues to blow a fuse

1997 Toyota T-100 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

My truck died while going down the road. Upon replacing a blown 15amp fuse, it will restart and be driveable with no problems for a short distance, but blows the fuse again. I don't have an owner's manual, so I can't tell exactly what the fuse goes to. Motor turns over with blown fuse but won't start. What is the problem?

We need to know exactly what fuse is blowing-best thing I can tell you now is you have a short circuit that's causing the fuse to blow.

fuse MAY be for fuel pump. does the cover not say what each and every fuse is for?

The cover was involved in an unfortunate accident and is no longer with us. I have no owners manual. I strongly suspect the fuel pump, as well. My real question is does the fuel pump really need to be replaced or is it just a relay switch, or some kind of short. This really depends on whether or not a fuel pump can "get weak" or do they just "go out"?

Hard to read, but I couldn't find one at all on the i-net! The bottom diagram should represent the box under the hood and it would be the fuse labled EFI.

I want you to remove the circuit opening relay-replace the EFI fuse-did it blow

Unfortunately, I had to leave the truck at work and the gate is locked up until early tomorrow morning. I can say that I did not mess with anything inside; I merely replaced the EFI fuse under the hood and it started right up, it went a 1/4 mile and blew again. Replaced it again, same result, but I'd made it back to work from lunch after the second time and thought it best to leave it there for now, lest I make the problem worse. I will certainly try your suggestion first thing tomorrow and post my results here. Thank you sooooo much!!!!!
