hello. I am looking to buy a 1985 toyota supra type p. the car has 144000k with a new auto transmission (@5000K) ((not so new :)) my question/delemma is: when I put the car into drive with my foot on the brake, the car's rear end raises @5 inches. is there a problem with the suspension? or something else?

Could have worn springs or shocks. Independent rear suspension (IRS) will move up and down depending on the load direction. The older cars did it much worse than the newer ones do. Take it to a mechanic and have it checked out before you buy it. A few dollars now could save you alot in the near future
