2000 Toyota Sienna funny rubber like smell

My car has had a funny rubber like smell just recently.
I have checked the oil and it seems fine. I have also
looked under the engine to see if anything is rubbing
against a heating unit. I can't see anything out of place. The car takes a while to smell and within seconds after I turn the engine off I don't smell anything. What could this possibly be.
