rav4 idle control valve

2001 rav 4, 142,000 miles
can i test the idle control valve off the vehicle to make sure it is the part i need/ It is$220.00 dollars, i'd like to be sure...if so, how do i do this?

The only thing you can do is clean the valve in a static position. Perhaps u shuld try an after market. Often times they are OEM parts packaged in another box Good luck
