My driver's side rear tire has a screw in it. It's been in for several weeks and when I took it somewhere to see about getting it repaired, they said it was too close to the sidewall to repair. The tires have a decent bit of tread left on them and the tire is not losing air. Do I need to replace the tire (I guess I would actually have to replace two) or is it safe to continue to drive on it with the screw in the tire?

do you want the good news first, or the bad news?

let's start with the bad news,
while i cant see where the screw is, I'll have to take their word that it is to far into the side wall. And you will need to replace it, cause you are running the chance of having a blowout.

The good news is, there is absolutely no reason for you to replace 2 tires.
