Air Conditioning problem
1999 Toyota Rav4 4 cyl Automatic 64,900 miles

I recently ran my A/C while driving for about 45 minutes on a humid day (94 degrees). When I went to take a sharp right, my pedal foot got soaked with freezing cold water(about a quart). I am assuming that it would be a clogged drain hose, but I can't find it. Where is it located and how would I unclog it? Could it be some other issue?

Hi Cathy T,

Thank you for the donation.

Your suspicion about a glogged drain hose should be correct.

The drain hose is at the lowest point of the evaporator housing under the glove box. The drain hose leads out to the engine compartment via the firewall.

To unclog the drain hose, check if any part of the hose is kinked. Straightening out the kink and squeeing the hose should clear the clog.

If the clog is inside the evaporator, remove the drain hose and get something to poke into the drain hose to clear the clogging.
