I have a 2005 Toyota Tacoma 2WD Double Cab, just purchased with a 7 year/100,000 mile warranty. Recently Noticed when I accelerate moderately, it tends to have a rattling sound coming from under the hood, it's significantly loud. But tolerable. Was wondering if it was the valves rattling or what? If I let this go on will it cause problems in the future, or is it normal in toyota trucks or what? Let me know, I'd appreciate it. Tim

Why did you buy the truck with a problem to begin with. Bring it back where you got it, have them fix the valve train.its warranted Its not normal-delays will assure you more problems to come in the future.

MARRIED4LIFE: You may want to check out your fender wells. I found the rubber flaps between the wheel well and the engine bay were loose. So I replaced the plastic snaps that held them in place. I have a 05 Tacoma and have been reading about checking certain points around the truck. I also found my drive shaft to the rearend, one of the four bolts was only finger tight. Some of the Zip ties for the electrical harness were snapped off due to age. Also check other locations like the glove compartment and side pockets for loose items for things rolling around inside.

Thank you for that information. I feel confident it will help others.

Take care and feel free to come back anytime in the future.
