Toyota Tundra, 2003, 26K miles, V6.

My car air conditioner worked fine when i first purchased it. but i never really used it. I probably use it once a month, if that. But with the recent hot weather where I live i tried using the A/C but it didnt work. The air would come out, but it was not cool at all, it was the same temperature as outside or even hotter. I don't know if this is a major problem or not. I have never had any air issues before. Any suggestions would help. thanks

26000 miles...still like new. Hope this suggestion helps.
Start your engine, turn on your blower (you said air is coming out).
1. Push the A/C button. There should be a light that will come out of the A/C button. Then, cold air should come out.
2. If there is no light in the A/C button, then your fuse maybe busted. I do not know your fusebox but open your hood, look for a plastic cover beside the fender. Plastic cover should have "FUSES & RELAYS" written on top of it. Open the plastic cover, and look for the A/C fuse (usually 10 Amp). Replace it with the same Amp. if it is busted. The A/C fuse gives power to the aircon compressor. (Another place for fuse box is on the left side of the brake pedal. Just check your service manual). Once you replace the A/C fuse, go back to step one.

These two are the simple steps I know. Other than this, you need an aircon technician to fix it. 26,000 miles should still be under Toyota warranty.

i think it's not due to the fuse because the A/C light works fine. its just that when i press the a/c button outside air comes in and it makes the heavy noise. it sounds like a very loud fan (best i could describe it). any other suggestions??
