I have an 86 pickup, 22R motor, was driving then stopped heard a pop and then it would not move. It shifts through the gears but it's like the clutch is in or in nuetral Nothing. I I checked the hydraulic clutch cylinder it is moving the clutch arm and there is tesnion. Drive shaft and rear end appear ok. Could the Friction plate be destroyed? Or perhaps broken shaft in the Tranny? Getting ready to pull the tranny but how do I tell if its the tranny if the friction plate is ok? Any help would be appreciated.

Either way you have to go in and investigate what's broken could be the clutch disc/pressure plate. or the main shaft is gone.
