1996 Toyota Pickup Key won't turn off

The key will not turn left past the on position after starting the engine. But when the battery is dead the key turns all the way off. What could be the problem?

Hi annie1957,

The interlock system is malfunctioning and you need to check for blown fuses under hood and dash.
