Engine Mechanical problem

rough idle and running very rich. the truck runs smoother once it warms up and out on the open road. the truck is puffing black smoke and is carbon fouling the new plugs. someone stated it was the egr valve but i have my doubts. if i rev the motor at a low idle ( 1500 rpm) and hold it the motor will shake and stumble. i have done a major tune up and also cleaned all of the carbon deposits in the manifold and egr areas. also did a compression test ( 150 in all cyl). i replaced the egr valve with another one from a complete motor in a junk yard and there was no change. WHAT IS MY PROBLEM???
