About a month ago I slid in the road and my truck was thrown into a snow embankment. I had it towed home and then I took it to have the tire put back on its rim and the only damage seemed to be cosmetic: driver side bumper and light dented , slight body damage. About a week ago (in one day) it overheated and I took it to a mechanic and he could find no radiator leak (pressure was fine) and thermostat stilll in working condition. He gave it back to me this weekend after charging only $20 for looking at it. He said he couldn't get it to overheat, so I drove home and I decided to turn on the heater and it did overheat and shut off on me. So what other problems should I be looking for. I need my truck for getting around town to church and studio.
Thanks for your time and advice.

check for the cooling fan(s) to come on properly, test heater core for blockages and also test engine coolant temp. sensor.
