Recently my back-up lights have stopped working on my wife's truck.

I checked all of the fuses, cleaned the sockets, bulbs & connectors. Still no power to the rear contacts.

I attempted to replace the backup switch on the trans and I was send a part from Rock Auto that does not appear to match. The rep on the phone @ Rock Auto disagrees. I have attached a pic of their part that I cannot seem to find a place on the tranny for.

The dealer took the VIN # and told me there was NO separate backup switch for the automatic trans and I needed a neutral safety switch instead (@ 10x the cost).

Can you tell me if this model (Tran # 03-71) has a separate B/U switch from the NS switch?

Can you send me a pic with the location?[img:896f343e61]http://www.2carpros.com/forum/automotive_pictures/299596_Rockauto_part_1.jpg[/img:896f343e61]

Good catch, yes it is a column shift.

It is hard to read and saving it doesn't help. If you could email it directly to me that would be greatly appreciated. My email is [email protected].

Can you tell me if this part is valid for my auto trans?

Should I send it back?
