My 1990 Toyota Pickup with almost 165,000 Mileage on it would begin to squeak after driving around a long period of time. When it starts to squeak i know my main driving problems are about to occur. After the squeaking begins, i'll try to take off from a full-stop but my car won't move. In my own solution, I would just turn off the car and turn it back on before I take off from a full-stop. If I can get a clue or a great answer, I appreciate it.

I need to know about this squeak, do you think it is clutch related, what can you do to make this noise, do you have good clutch pedal pressure when it wont go?

I think it is Clutch related. I don't really do anything to make the noise it just starts squeaking after driving around for a about 10-15 miles. After that Its hard to move the car in 1st Gear. i can press the gas pedal all the way down and it wont move.

I was told by someone it could be my clutch, but the squeaking noise might be coming from the pilot bearings, but im not sure what might be wrong with the pilot bearings.

A dry pilot bearing wont stop the clutch from working, when the car will drive, dose the clutch take up near the floor or well up? id the fluid (if hydraulic) ok, dose the pedal pressure feel firm all the time, is there a lot of free play in the pedal, dead movement before you feel pressure?

The clutch takes up near the floor and when im pressing the clutch there is no dead movement, its all pressure. The person that told me is an AutoTech teacher and he said it might be out of grease, you think thats it? but another thing to tell you to maybe help you out is when I'm letting go of the clutch while pressing the gas pedal, theres no rev'ing in the engine also. I would also need to turn off the engine and turn it back on everytime i make a complete stop.

You will not be able to grease the pilot bearing, i think that you need to go get a scan done on the engine management system, if there is no throttle response then we are looking at a totally different problem.

Aright, Thank you. If you have any other answers that may be a helpful answer to your knowledge, I'd be glad to read it. What do you think the squeaking noise might be, it does come from somewhere under my truck.

If the squeak is there when driving and the transmission is in gear with the clutch out, it will not be the pilot bearing as the input shaft is locked to the clutch and it is all turning together, if the noise can be made by playing on the clutch pedal it will be the thrust bearing, if you can hear it when you hit a bump it will more than likely be suspension related,

The squeaking is there when im stopped and driving. Its not really a squeak its like Skreatching sound. It only happens after driving for about 10-15 miles in the heat. The noise doesn't come from playing with the clutch, I dont even have to step on the clutch for the sound to begin. When I'm driving my trucks engine would start to rattle while in a stop, then after a few miles it'll start the squeaking or skreatching sound.
