That will depend on the engine. That year has both fuel injection(22RE) and carburetors(22R).

22R- filter is located at the tank


22RE- You wont like this one... Under the intake/above the starter on the passenger side of the engine

If your car is a carby version, there should be a filter inside the chassis rail near the filler neck.

I need to know where the fuel pressure regulator is and where the gas lines go from tank to what first second and third to return. Please.

' ave drawings for fuel lines, the regulator may be on fuel rail on engine there may be two lines going to rail usually a larger line is for feed and smaller line for return. if there is a line like 3/16" or so that may go to evap canister fro m tank.

My older toyota pick-up started cutting out going up hills after driving 60 mph, I'd pull over and turn it off and sit for a few minutes, then restart and it would be fine. It wouldn't cut out as long as I didn't go over 45 to 50 mph. Now it cuts out whether I am going slow or the speed limit. We changed the fuel pump and the catalitic converter was taken off. It is still cutting out like it is starving for fuel. I was thinking maybe it was the fuel filter or maybe a sensor of some sort. Does anyone have any suggestions of what it could possibly be or something to check out? Oh by the way, where is the fuel filter located? Don't laugh! I'm a woman and if it isn't in plain sight, I haven't a clue. But I do have some mechanical knowledge. My last vehicle the fuel filter was in plain sight and inline, very easy to see and replace. Thanks for any insight and easy fixes in advance. Please help!!!!

Carb system its either near the gas tank or in the engine compartment. EFI system its under the intake manifold.

Might want to check the fuel pressure for a start

The fuel filter is located underneath the drivers side seat in the undercarriage.

I have a 1996, Toyota Tacoma 4x4 4 cylinder 2.7 liter truck. I am trying to locate the fuel filter. I believe I see it behind the exhaust manifold. Will I be required to remove the manifold to change the filter? and if so, what kind of gasket issues with the manifold will I face.

I just changed my fuel filter on a 95 Toyota pickup if you look on the passenger side in front just right above the oil filter its in a tight place so you have to look really in there if its not there look back by the gas tank on the frame

I want to replace the fuel filter in my 1991 yota 4/4 6 cylinder but have no idea how to do so.

NOTE: If vehicle has been operated within an hour, the fuel system is probably under pressure and requires caution when removing filter union bolts.

REMOVAL:
1.Locate the fuel filter on the right frame rail underneath of the passenger compartment.
2.Slowly loosen the filter union bolts. Some gasoline may escape, so ensure that the potential for fire is minimized.
3.Remove the union bolts and four gaskets.
4.Loosen filter clamp and slip filter from clamp.

INSTALLATION:
1.Slip new filter into clamp. Ensure that flow arrows are in the correct direction.
2.Position filter in the middle of the clamp and tighten filter clamp.
3.Reinstall both union bolts with four new gaskets.
4.Torque union bolts to 18 Nm (13 ft lbs) . DO NOT overtighten union bolts.
5.Clean any gasoline that may have escaped.
6.Start the engine and check for fuel leaks.

Also remove front drivers side wheel and rock guard panel, access through the inner tie rod hole.

Use a line wrench to remove lower connection, BE VERY CAREFULL not to round that nut. It is a double inverted flare connection, like a brake line connector.

what are the steps to change this trucks fuel filter?

I just went thru that hassel! First thing you need is patience. I got to mine thru the wheel well of the truck. turned wheel all the way to the left and reach it like that . good luck
